Heading to Salus House in Huddersfield, SL2 were tasked by the customer to provide a new specialist education facility for children who cannot be in mainstream school, converting a previous 3-story office block into a space ideal for an education environment.
We carried out the build quickly and efficiently, offering a back-to-back working schedule to accommodate the school programme. With works comprising strip out, drylining, floor finishes, decoration, joinery installations, new staircases and an external package, we converted the office block into a school. The key to this project’s success was all about our ability to design and build, implementing our knowledge to proactively identify the risks in the new construction and adapt as we went along. We worked closely with our client, who ensured we were pushed along to meet their very specific expectations, especially as the project was delivered in an incredibly short timescale to ensure that the children could be in their new education settings without any disruption or delays.
